Religious Right Suffers Defeat in House
For the last several months, the Religious Right have been incredibly vocal in their opposition to the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA), as we told you about in September. In a victory against discrimination, and a defeat for the religious right, yesterday the House of Representatives passed the ENDA. According to The New York Times:
The House on Wednesday approved a bill granting broad protections against discrimination in the workplace for gay men, lesbians and bisexuals, a measure that supporters praised as the most important civil rights legislation since the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 but that opponents said would result in unnecessary lawsuits.

The RR is taking a shellacking lately.
Obviously the CIC will veto this, but it’s a start.
If you wonder what the fundamentalists do have in mind for gay folks read this.
HOLY HOLY SHEEEIT, Dale. Is this from the Phelp’s family church??
Only one example for why I will not be sucked into any religious vacuum.
Wow. I wonder how the reconsile that with Jesus’ teachings.
Catholics urge civility in run-up to 2008 elections
WASHINGTON (RNS) A year to the day before the 2008 presidential elections, a group of Catholics urged civility in American politics, asking Catholic voters and politicians to avoid dragging the church into divisive partisanship.
– Beckie Supiano
Sad and disgusting that the majority of evangelicals fundies don’t know the meaning of the word civility, as evidenced by Dale’s link.
Alba,
Not from the Phelps family. Just another loony fundamentalist bunch.
At the bottom of the page you can go to their home page and read more of the lunacy.
Nobody should fear what might come from this legislation. Discriminating against folk who are out working to earn a living is wrong. The right to work, and not be discriminated against in the workplace, is a basic right that all Americans should respect and uphold. Judge a person based on their performance in the workplace, not their sexual preference.
Some who read this blog know full well that I do not approve of homosexual behavior, based on the teachings of the Bible, but I will would be in error if I were to advocate or tolerate discrimination of a co-worker because they were gay, lesbian, transgendered, etc.
I believe that the RR leadership is against this legislation because they fear that churches, synagogues or mosques might be forced to accept and employ openly homosexual people.
“I believe that the RR leadership is against this legislation because they fear that churches, synagogues or mosques might be forced to accept and employ openly homosexual people.”
To that line, I respected your post, MJ. The churches, synagogues, mosques shouldn’t “forced” to accept anybody. They should be accepting voluntarily.
To the fundamentalist homophobic bigots I would ask, do you know the book of Leviticus condemns a lot of things as “abominations.” The 11th chapter is overflowing with abominations. For example, from verses 10-12:
And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you: They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination. Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
Fundies cite Leviticus as evidence that homosexuals are an unclean “abomination,” yet they have no problem eating at Red Lobster. This is merely one of hundreds of selective bible verses the fundies use.
Mark,
I do respect an agree with aspects of your post. Thanks.
Nice post at 4:05 Dale.
You better watch out boys and girls. I heard of this company that hired a gay guy. He had an agenda to take over the world and to ruin all the heterosexual marriages.
He only worked there a couple months and everybody was getting divorced and having illicit sex with people of the same sex in the bathrooms and those not involved in that were out soliciting prostitutes and doing meth and abusing children and that gay guy had won them all over. Erm, oh sorry I got my stories mixed up. That is all what has been going on in the RR this year. Sorry.
Actually, I would love to see fundies demonstrating in front of Red Lobster. That would be a hoot!
I’m going to post this before bill does because — given that it’s taken directly from the NY TIimes article referenced above, he’s sure he-he-heeing is ass off somewhere in netherland - you so might as well get the heads up.
______________
The twist this year is that the measure has emerged as an example of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s pragmatism in trying to make headway on leading issues by granting concessions, even at the risk of angering her party’s base.
To ensure passage of the bill, Ms. Pelosi and other Democrats, including Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, who is openly gay, removed language granting protections to transsexual and transgender individuals by barring discrimination based on sexual identity, a move that infuriated gay rights groups.
The Democrats also carved out a blanket exemption for religious groups, drawing the ire of civil liberties advocates who argued that church-run hospitals, for instance, should not be permitted to discriminate against gay employees. The civil liberties groups wanted a narrow exemption for religious employers.
_______________-
Bottom line — don’t be a gay Christian and try to get a job working for any (straight) Christian organization. Happy, aren’t you bill? Jesus wins agin. Huh?
CT,
Good find, but it is still a good start. And Nanacy is probably making the proper decision by taking the low hanging fruit in a fair negotiation.
Negotiations can be murky because by definition, each side must give up something. But, In my book that is the way good ordered progress is made. I am fully behind her on this one. The door is not being closed on future ammendments and bills.
P.S. bill is going to he he he himself all the way to his he he hell if he keeps up his absurd horseshit.
Lynne used to say something from Ghandi about the truth can never hurt those with a just cause. I have always believed that to be very important and very true in my experience. The RR is not big on truth or in a very selective manner.
Off-topic, best for Friday (but I won’t be here until late, so tough it out

After months of debate, a Bakersfield school district votes to display posters explaining the motto in 2,300 classrooms and offices.
By Steve Chawkins, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
November 7, 2007
After months of contentious debate, a Bakersfield school district has voted to display the phrase “In God We Trust” on the walls of more than 2,300 classrooms, school libraries, administrative offices and the board’s meeting room.
Adopted by Congress as the U.S. motto in 1956, the words will be highlighted in a poster along with portions of the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and the original national motto: e pluribus unum, Latin for “from many, one.”
“We’re not going to accept the agenda of some radical leftists who want to expunge God from public dialogue,” Chad Vegas, an evangelical pastor who sits on the board of the Kern High School District, said in an interview Tuesday. “Instead, we’re teaching our citizens — including our children — that the very foundation of government is that God gave them unalienable rights that cannot be usurped by the will of the majority or anyone else.”
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-trust7nov07,1,273667.story?ctrack=2&cset=true
So I guess we can understand that anyone who doesn’t believe in God is a radical leftist with an agenda, as well as unpatriotic. Anyone know why the national motto was ever changed to begin with? Did those who supported “E pluribus unum” have an “agenda” or something?
In god we trust. All others bring cash.
That is my motto too.
That works fine. I love having people post things that I cam mock and scorn as hoseshit and crackpottery.
Bring it on.
“E Pluribus Unum” is the unofficial motto and lest anyone would forget, it is “E Pluribus Unum” that got us where we are and you freaking fundies can yell gloom and doom all you want but you are relegating youselves to what will become known as the last purveyors of the Dak Ages as society passes you by.
Of course I meant, People who post garbage on the walls”
Those are called “exortations” and they are always counterproductive, even in support of a good cause.
I’m not going in to the reason for that here. The RR thinks they are scoring a victory by doing that, they are sadly mistaken.
They are only going to create more tension, and they will widen the gap between themselves and the mainstream society.
They could plaster signs all over those schools and they will only hurt themselves.
I hate to give the RR any good advice, but they forgot that ones catches more flys with honey than one does with vinegar.
My above post to MJ should say, “Until that line, I respected your post…” I won’t dis you entirely, but to clarify my statement, I don’t think that churches should be “forced” to accept anybody, but that they should be open and welcoming of their own volition. Sadly they are not, and use opposition to legislation such as this to promote more fear amongst their congregations. Manipulation and control through fear.
This crock of shit about preachers being “silenced at the pulpit” as they preach their hate and intolerance is despicable. The idea that they will be “forced” to accept homosexuality is ridiculous. Maybe I’m wrong, but I do not believe the Bible says Love your neighbor…as long as he’s straight, white, and evangelical.
Alba,
You just took the words right out of my mouth. Truer words were never spoken. Thank you.
In God We Trust. OK
But, I think we should put our trust in our ability to act together as a non homogenius society because of the great discention between all the fledgling cristian cults that one sees, springing up like dandelions- you can’t step over them without stepping on one of them, proliferate as they are !
I place an exceptional amount of trust on all the People, women, men , of every stripe and minion that has given their lives to insure that each of you could worship in any manner that you wish.
Then you take those lives and throw them away to see to it that your particular religion becomes the national religion.
Oh, I am sorry that you think only one guy gave up his life. That is the saddest thought I could have, that you credit none of the most meritorious activities of your fathers for insuring your freedom. Tens of thousands of them. Yet you speak nothing of that; what shame.
Yes, Dale, but that is why it is essential to convert our entire military to Christianity. Then, and only then, will the fundies be happy. They can then say our soldiers are serving God by serving their Christian nation.
If we place our trust in all the people, irregardless of their religious preference, E Pluribus Unum would suffice.
Using In God We Trust guarantees divisiveness. Just as the school board pastor said. It allows them to divide by using terms like “radical leftists” and “unpatriotic atheists.”
Again off topic:
Has this been touched here? I know I’ve been out of the loop for a bit, but it is unlikely that I was sleeping for this one, as I’ve only slept about 10 hrs of the past 72.
Waxman: Blackwater may have evaded millions in taxes
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/10/23/congress.blackwater/index.html#cnnSTCText
Exodus International has decided it’s time for “honest reasoning and debate.” They don’t want to be be seen as homophobic, bigoted, and intolerant, just because they stand by their convictions. They are sponsoring a campus-wide campaign amongst students, and their intent seems well enough:
“The annual “Allies, Too” campaign is rallying Christian students this week to commit to making their campuses safe and harassment free and to advocate “true tolerance” and diversity, particularly when it comes to differing - and sometimes opposing – views on homosexuality…
The campaign is aiming to break the widely-held belief that Christians hate gays. A recent Barna Group study found that the majorities of both young non-Christians and young churchgoers say present-day Christianity is “anti-homosexual.”…
http://www.christianpost.com/article/20071106/29979_Christian_Students_Fight_Homophobic_Label,_Promote_Campus_Safety.htm
Well, good luck, but the fact that Exodus is behind makes me very leery.
As the congress votes to protect those of diverse gender orientation, my home, State, Arkansas, prepares to vote pn Const Amendment prohibitng gays/lesbans from adopting or being foster parents!
I should move n protest, but I am too firmly ensconsed in my place in the country.
When Arkansas last voted re (oxymoronic)”Defense of marriage Act” it was 88% in favor and 12% against
I would think that the only “differing - and sometimes opposing – views on homosexuality” would be that someone either is homosexual or they are not. What anyone thinks of anybody else’s sexual orientation is irrelevant in the public domain.
ABILITY is what you’re capable of doing.
MOTIVATION determines what you do.
ATTITUDE determines how well you do it.

Chad Vegas, an evangelical pastor who sits on the board of the Kern High School District, said “We’re teaching our citizens — including our children — that the very foundation of government is that God gave them unalienable rights that cannot be usurped by the will of the majority or anyone else.”
Than why the hell does “pastor” Chad and so many other fundie nutwads think it’s just fine to hold voter referenda on same-sex marriage, anti-discrimination laws, anti-adoption laws, hate crime protection, and anything else the turds can think of that will keep gay people under their holier than thou thumbs?
I repeat…in one breath “pastor” Chad advocates “unalienable rights that cannot be usurped by the will of the majority or anyone else”, but in the next breath, he’ll want the majority to pass laws that discriminate against gay people.
What liars and hypocrites these mouth foamers are.
And so many of them are out visiting highway rest stops and public restrooms, looking for blow jobs from other closet queens.
Mark…houses of worship will be allowed to continue to discriminate in hiring against gay people. The ENDA legislation has language that exempts them.
I feel that the Democrats should not have removed the language in ENDA that included gender identity. I know many straight parents who are members of the chapter of PFLAG that I belong to are very upset by this. They would rather not have the bill at all, then to have a bill that excludes gender identity.
President Shitforbrains will veto the thing anyway. I don’t know if the bill has enough support to override that asshole’s veto, but I doubt it.

Anti-Abortion Postings Ordered Removed
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A federal judge ordered an anti-abortion activist to remove Web site postings that authorities said exhorted readers to kill an abortion provider by shooting her in the head.
District Court Judge Thomas Golden granted an injunction Thursday seeking the removal of postings on Web pages maintained by John Dunkle. The injunction, sought by prosecutors in August, also bans him from publishing similar messages containing names, addresses or photographs of health clinic staff members.
Prosecutors said one posting targeted a former clinician for the Philadelphia Women’s Center, and that she later stopped providing reproductive health services because she feared for her life.
He probably wants to bring back lynching blacks and burning witches, too. There are some fundie nuts that make Islamo fascists look like boy scouts.
Look at how these idiots phrase their headlines:
“House passes bill giving homosexuals special status”
Yes, it’s special, isn’t it? To have to have a freaking law that says discrimination is illegal? And that those who go around harping “Jesus loves you” are the ones who want the discrimination to continue?
In reference to our resident troll, I would like to post a quote from Lou Holtz, a devout catholic.
“ABILITY is what you’re capable of doing.” RT (Resident Troll) does not have the ability to form a logical argument. He cannot conjugate verbs. He does not have the ability to distinguish between the meanings of the words to and too. He does not have the ability to have an adult conversation.
RT does not have the ability to form any of his own opinions, but copy/ pastes almost every statement he makes from AIG. His level of ability of the command of the english language is no more than a seventh grade level and he has left plenty of comments that poitively prove that.
He has shown that he has no ability in math, geology, humanities, or anything else that is apparent.
“MOTIVATION determines what you do.” Yes, what would possibly motivate someone to spend countless hours arguing inane and fractured logic that is refuted constantly. What would motivate one to pick one innocuous site when there are so many blogs that take on the RR much more rigorously than this site. The motivation may be that he percieves our little home here as a huge threat to his god, Ken Ham, since he is obsessed with Ken Ham. and constantly posts the same information over and over as if he posts it enough people will believe it, once again displaying a sophomoric and fractured logic of basic communications.
Of course he is not motivated to take on any other anti RR blogs like Theocracy watch, Culture wars, Pharangula, Freedom from Religion Foundation, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, etc. He appeared here originally when we were smacking down the Hamsterite Fred and Wilma church of cartoons and that has been his constant and continuing thrust. He is totally obsessed with the Creation house of lies that Ham built. He constantly brings it up. Thus, that was his original motivation and remains to motivate him. He’s stuck on something that nobody even cares about any more nearly as much as all the new issues that come up on a daily basis.
“ATTITUDE determines how well you do it.” The trolls attitude is of course, his worst liability. Actually, his attitude has handicapped him to the point where he seems to like being the class dunce. It allows him to slander people and the proof of that is on this very thread.
He displays the attitude alternately of a bully, then dunce, like a prepubescent child starving for attention.
I have not observed RT doing any one thing well, unless, as he must, one considers obfuscation and disruption as good things to do.
It is highly suspicious why someone delights in spotlighting their uneducated bigotry and ignorance. But, here you have it. What clouded and cultured thinking could motivate this? What could drive this attitude? Well that would be the type of person that has no imagination and has been conditioned to the inerrent truth of one ancient book, written by goat herders who were trying to explain their existence.
That is known as delusional thinking.
EVIDENCE THAT dale is human, too.

Wrong, “for beliefs to be considered delusional, the content or themes of the beliefs must be uncommon in the person’s culture or religion.” According to, the Encyclopedia of Mental Disorders
i just think its funny every time someone picks on someone else for misspelling or grammar they make themselves look like fools.
If what you say is to be accepted as your true opinion on the matter, bill, you’ve just admitted that you have made yourself look like a fool on more than one occassion.
I give as good as I get. If you don’t like it, tough.
dale stand corrected.
It’s apparent that our ‘lil buddy enjoys the attention he gets here. He is unable to get the same attention anywhere else.
There you have it. bill responds to a reasoned post by correcting the grammer, typos actually. But, thanks for repeating what I said for all to see again.
You have no response. You are one ignorant bastard, bill. I pity you.
Right there for all to see. After a scathing personal attack what does the troll do? HE REPOSTS the whole comment with his little boxes!!!!
Damn that is funny!
Thanks for pointing out my typos, bill. You don’t have a clue.
I take back everything I said. I doubt if bill is up to a sixth grade level emotionally or intellectually.
Like a little kid, he had not a clue how to respond to my post other than pointing out the typos. He has never expressed a personal opinion. He worships Ken Ham to the point that he can only quote Ken Ham. He is a Hammite, totally obsessed with Ken Ham. Ken Ham is his god.
He believes every word that Ham says. Now that is a pity. I was wondering when Ken Ham became a god.
bill, you are a jerk off. You even copy and paste derogetory remarks about yourself. It doesn’t get any stupider than that.
Typos do not negate a statement. The content remains the same. Thanks for copying and pasting my comments, not once, but twice! You are one ignorant bastard, bill, I mean Ken. You are a Ken Ham cultist. You are out in left field….wayyyy out there.
Thanks for looking up the word delusional, bill. I don’t know what dictionary you were using but you picked an alternative definition to take the heat off yourself. Here is what Meriam- Webster says:
Delusion-something that is falsely or delusively believed or propagated b: a persistent false psychotic belief regarding the self or persons or objects outside the self that is maintained despite indisputable evidence to the contrary; also : the abnormal state marked by such beliefs
But you looked up the venacular word. I am referring to the mental illness that you are dealing with.
I’ll post the short version from wikipedia:
“A person with delusional disorder can be quite functional and does not tend to show any odd or bizarre behavior except as a direct result of the delusional belief. “Despite the encapsulation of the delusional system and the realtive sparing of the personality, the patient’s way of life is likely to become more and more overwhelmed by the dominating effect of the abnormal beliefs”. (Munro, 1999)”
Now, pay close attention to the symptoms while keeping in mind that your problem is usually chronic (incurable) and people like you will tend to be in perpetual trouble caused by your delusions.
1-The patient expresses an idea or belief with unusual persistence or force. (goes to a hostile site and posts Ken Ham quotations for months with no personal opinion- very odd)
2-That idea appears to exert an undue influence on his or her life, and the way of life is often altered to an inexplicable extent. (the idea pushes you to waste countless hours posting where no one gives a shit what you say- you are merely thought of as a disruption- You are respected by nobody and you have zero credibility)
3- Despite his profound conviction, there is often a quality of secretiveness or suspicion when the patient is questioned about it. (bill never lets out any personal information and bristles when asked- very secretive)
4-The individual tends to be humorless and oversensitive, especially about the belief. (Fits bill to a T)
5-An attempt to contradict the belief is likely to arouse an inappropriately strong emotional reaction, often with irritability and hostility. (That’s bill- no argument there)
6-The belief is, at the least, unlikely. (Clings to the Hammism that the earth is only 6,0000 years old in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary)
7-The patient is emotionally over-invested in the idea and it overwhelms other elements of his psyche (psychology). (over invested is an understatement. bill invests countless hours posting shit that nobody cares about, and he has never had any person agree with him; even other fundies)
8-The delusion, if acted out, often leads to behaviors which are abnormal , although perhaps understandable in the light of the delusional beliefs. (of course someone who believes that dinosaurs existed beside men is going to be one wierded out mfer.)
While I cannot make a professional diagnosis, I can see that you suffer from all of the above. This problem is causing you a lot of grief and it is going to get worse before it gets better. Delusional disorder is usually chronic and uncureable so you can look forward to being a professional pain in the ass (Troll) for the rest of your miserable life.
Please feel free to copy and paste this several times and point out any typos that I have made. That all fits into your delusional disorder.
It is a pity, what you are doing and it is not because you are a christian. You are mentally ill. Being a christian has nothing to do with what you are doing to yourself and your family.
Wrong again, “for beliefs to be considered delusional, the content or themes of the beliefs must be uncommon in the person’s culture or religion.” According to, the Encyclopedia of Mental Disorders
dale what part of “Encyclopedia of Mental Disorders” did you not understand? inane that.
LOLOLOL@LOLOLOL
dale, you have NO qualification to make such claims. Of course massive deficiency of ability, talent, or trained competent skill has never stopped you from making you outrageous, lunatic claims before, so why should it now?
Once again you display your typical ignorant sentiment toward the mentally ill; your actions are filled with malice and sadly are designed to deliberately bring about pain and produce distress.
Sad that.
bill, your response to dale and claim that he displays a “typical ignorant sentiment toward the mentally ill” has no credibility or basis in truth………unless, of course…you..bill — have actually been diagnosed with some form of mental illness. And if that’s the case, it would:
a. explain your behavior
and
b. beg the question — “who’s allowing you to have access to the internet?” Don’t they realize your potential to hurt and be hurt?
Unless you are mentally ill Bill, then Dale’s comments shouldn’t be perceived as filled with malice towards the mentally ill. His comments are directed at YOU. It’s also good to see that your alter ego is here…the one who is capable of forming a coherent sentence. Finally, there are sometimes obvious instances where one needs absolutely no qualifications from the medical field to know that some other person is missing a few screws. In this case, it is painfully apparent that your lights are on, but no one is home.
Same track, C.T.
.
Thank you heartless and mini heartless, I knew if dale said jump you would obey and then wonder when to come down.
It is so heartbreaking to watch this assemblage of misfits pretend to protect the constitution; then expose themselves as a detestable, callous, merciless community of oddballs and frighten tormentors. Poignanting that.
“Poignanting?” Interesting attempt.
Ummm, Bilbo? You do include yourself when you call DefCon an assemblage of misfits, correct? ‘Cause I don’t think a day has gone by without us having to tolerate your ignorance.
So how’d you do on your communications class? I see we’ve moved on to new and big words, so I’m guessing Semester 2 is vocabulary. Yeah, I guess it is senseless to attempt to communicate if you don’t know vocab, but poignanting? I’d have to flunk your ass with that one.
Noone but a mentally ill person would have the reaction that bill did to Dale’s post.
mentally ill bill spends countless hours disrupting this teeny website, a website he claims has no influence.
Funny that.
My thoughts exactly, Don.
frighten tormentors??? what the fu*k is that??
C.T., bill left out the “ed” in “frightened”.
He thinks we’re frightened tormenters.
And he thinks that is “Poignanting”.
LOL! Ahhh. Thank you. I needed that, Don.
Again it is proven that bill cannot conjugated verbs (frighten.) Third grade errors constantly. Anyone who cannot conjugate a verb has no credability.
By the way, bill, I am “certified” in the state of PA to recognize the symptoms of mental disorders along with recognizing alchohol and drug abuse and physical abuse.
I have a staff psychologist that I take my observations to and we evaluate people we have placed in “sensitive” positions in the organizations.
While I cannot legally make a professional diagnosis, I am well trained and I can see that you are in emotional trouble. I will bet the farm that your personal life is a fu*king mess. You are trying to control us. Control. I am sure you know what I am referring to. How many wives have you lost due to that?
To the rational beings here: Please excuse the typos in the first paragraph.
bill, you can stammer away all night at them, but:
GO AND LEARN HOW TO CONJUGATE VERBS YOU STUPID MORON.
Well stated Don, Alba, and CT!
Dale, why have you waited so long to start claiming that you are now “certified”? Strange that this certification has suddenly manifested itself after you have been exposed. If you are “certified in PA” at best you are no more that an amateur wantta be and at worst your actions here demonstrate that you have abused your certification and should be investigated, you’re acting dangerously. Please tell me who to report you to.
AS for my Grammar, your childish attack on my so-called lack of language skills has NOTHING to do with the validate of my agreements; It only proves how much I annoy and irritate you. lol
I do wonder why you have this childlike need to exalt your status here by irrationally attacking me instead of taking on the issues.
No one here will admit this but Dale doesn’t plagiarize near as often as he use to do. So my present here has not been in vein.
thanks al
Dale, why have you waited so long to start claiming that you are now “certified”? Strange that this certification has suddenly manifested itself after you have been exposed. If you are “certified in PA” at best you are no more that an amateur wannabe and at worst your actions here demonstrate that you have abused your certification and should be investigated; you’re acting dangerously. Please tell me who to report you to.
AS for my Grammar, your childish attack on my so-called lack of language skills has NOTHING to do with the validity of my arguments; It only proves how much I annoy and irritate you. lol
I do wonder why you have this childlike need to exalt your status here by irrationally attacking me instead of taking on the issues.
No one here will admit this but Dale doesn’t plagiarize near as often as he used to do. So my present here has not been in vain.
bill - your P-R-E-S-E-N-C-E has been completely for naught (which would mean it has been ALL IN VAIN = VANITY) and if you would really like to give us P-R-E-S-E-N-T-S……never come here again. We all would welcome that from you……it would be the “Christian” thing to do, as in give and it will be given to you.
So, to review — you give us the pleasure of never seeing you here again and we’ll give you all the respect you deserve.
bill once again shows his total ignorance. Pity pity……
bill, I do wonder why you have this childlike need to exalt your status here by irrationally disrupting this small website; a website that you claim has no influence.
Is disrupting this website your only way of getting attention?
bill,
You are a liar. I have mentioned on several occasions that I was taking certificate courses and also that I worked closely with a satff psycologist.
I have never claimed to be anything I am not.
I do have much experience and training in recognizing the symptoms of emotional distress and mental disorders.
You do exhibit classic clinical symptoms of delusional thinking and absurdly false sense of your own importance.
Nothing is going to change that. Ignorant people with inflated self worth come off as extraordinarily hopeless.
“No one here will admit this but Dale doesn’t plagiarize near as often as he use to do. So my present here has not been in vein [sic]. ”
I have never intentionally plagurized anybody. I can prove that you have though.
bill,
That is a total absurdity. You are claiming that you spend countless hours here to make sure I don’t plagurize someone.
I think this shows that you have some grossly misguided priorities. Of course, that goes along with the other symptoms you exhibit.
In fact, that is such an absurd statement that it is mind numbing. I pity you.
bill,
While I am at it, from my training and experience it is apparent that you are embarrassed at your station in life since you are so secretive about it.
You are hiding something.
You are hiding something.
You are hiding something.
You are hiding something.
You are hiding something.
You are hiding something.
You are hiding something.
You are hiding something.
The other day I attempted to reach out to another human being who was about to lose a loved one, and offer the only thing I could, a few words of understanding and encouragement. I exposed the loss of my parents; two people responded with negative destructive remarks.
Dale, ask you physic friend why you have this need to use your “training and experience” to have power over people you disagree with.
sad that.
BTW, I’m not copying you, I’m mocking you.
Glad to see you’ve noticed.
You disrespect Alba and then reach out with supposed compassion and now you’re hurt that you weren’t believed to be sincere???
You are no different from the little boy that cried wolf.
no, i’m not hurt; you both acted as i assumed you would.
Are you aware that natural selection and beneficial mutations do not support the “theory” of evolution?
http://www.answersingenesis.org/PublicStore/product/Origin-of-the-Species,4848,229.aspx
AIG- Creationist scientists sign an oath that they will not publish any research in opposition to Ken Ham’s interpretation of the bible.
That fact renders their “research” invalid.
“Are you aware that natural selection and beneficial mutations do not support the “theory” of evolution?” That is totally absurd.
Natural selection and beneficial mutations are the cornerstone of evolution no matter what Ken Ham says.
From AIG:
“All job applicants need to supply a written statement of their testimony, a statement of what they believe regarding creation and a statement that they have read and can support the AiG statement of faith.”
#1 under “Priorities” states:
“The scientific aspects of creation are important, but are secondary in importance to the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
#3-4-5 under “basics” states:
The account of origins presented in Genesis is a simple but factual presentation of actual events and therefore provides a reliable framework for scientific research into the question of the origin and history of life, mankind, the earth, and the universe.
The various original life-forms (kinds), including mankind, were made by direct creative acts of God. The living descendants of any of the original kinds (apart from man) may represent more than one species today, reflecting the genetic potential within the original kind. Only limited biological changes (including mutational deterioration) have occurred naturally within each kind since Creation.
The great Flood of Genesis was an actual historic event, worldwide (global) in its extent and effect.
So, if a creation “scientist” in his research finds evidence supporting an old earth, he is forbidden to publish it. Verrrry unscientific and absolutely absurd.
I have no power over anyone and do not desire it bill.
You are completely free to continue to make an ass out of yourself as long as you wish.
Oops, I missed this one.
#6 in Ham’s Statement of Faith under “general.”
“No apparent, perceived or claimed evidence in any field, including history and chronology, can be valid if it contradicts the Scriptural record.
That is a tacit admission that evidence that contradicts the bible will be supressed. Fact, that.
So even if some research or evidence is “apparently true” the god-like Hamster will not allow it. Talking about stifling creativity and progress are we?
Sheer insanity.
bill states:
“BTW, I’m not copying you, I’m mocking you.
Glad to see you’ve noticed.”
It does you no good to mock me because my style is iinimitable and you come off as a little sissy copycat akin to the acting out of a third grade kid.
“Wolf!!…….Wolf……”
No dale I think he’s mocking you.
Jerry G,
He is entitled to his opinion but not his own facts.
So, you troll a lot?
THIS JUST IN, dale redefines term troll to include ANYONE who dares to disagree with him.
Remember when Bill harped on endlessly about the ‘Out of Africa Theory’? Bill, did you know that the Out of Africa theory is entirely inconsistent with Hamsterhead’s position? Did he tell you to stop using that argument?
This just in - Bill is a liar. Dale hasn’t redefined anything, but nitwit Bilbo has.
Jerry G, do you and bill work part time for Ken Ham?
Hey! I know a troll when I see one! I can also distinguish between logic and crackpottery!
I’ve been hearing the “homosexuals are abominations that threaten our very way of life” spiel my whole life. I was raised to believe that gays were creatures utterly beyond the pale - so bad that God was forced to blitz cities right off the face off the earth because of them and the hideous threat they presented to the righteous. Strangely, though, I have yet to see even one heterosexual marriage destroyed by nefarious gay neighbors, or one schoolchild converted to a life of disgusting debauchery by the “gay agenda”. Neither have gay soldiers destroyed our military through their limp-wristedness. Even more strangely, I have noticed that locations with a large gay population tend to be a regular nexus of creativity, not to mention higher levels of education and income. Of course, education, intellect, progressiveness and creativity are also not well tolerated by the authoritarian RR. What a coincidence!
Dale, your link at the beginning of this thread was really eye-opening. No one but the RR whackos could get away with putting this kind of hate-filled shit out in public. How are the people that believe this crap any different from the KKK or the NeoNazis? Un-friggin-believable.
Dorris,
Thanks for perusing the site. Don’t be a stranger!
OR Don’t be any stranger then you already are!
Hi Door store, glad to see you back, not.
you whimper, “How are the people that believe this crap any different from the KKK”
Hmm, lets see, Robert ‘KKK’ Byrd from WV is a liberal Dimocrap, your a liberal Dimocrap, aren’t you?
Robert ‘KKK’ Byrd from WV was a big shot in the KKK, You’re Like Byrd.
You tell me how are YOU Dorris different then a KLANSMAN like BYRD? HMMM?
Participation in the Ku Klux Klan
In 1942, 24-year-old Byrd joined the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), whose parades in Matoaka, West Virginia, he had witnessed in his childhood. He was unanimously elected Exalted Cyclops, or leader, of his local chapter.

Thanks for bringing the KKK up.
Democratic Sen. Robert Byrd, Ex-Klansman
by Michelle Malkin (March 8, 2001)
Ex-Klansman Robert Byrd, the senior senator from West Virginia, casually used the phrase “white nigger” twice on national TV this weekend. Enraged civil rights groups organized a protest campaign against Sen. Byrd and demanded that he undergo sensitivity training … not.
The ex-Klansman, you see, is a Democrat. Democrats can join hate groups and utter the ugliest racial slurs and get away with it because they are Democrats. They belong to the party of racial tolerance and understanding. They’re paragons of virtue, and the rest of us are bigoted rubes.
The ex-Klansman showed his true colors when asked by Fox News Sunday morning talk show host Tony Snow about the state of race relations in America. Sen. Byrd warned: “There are white niggers. I’ve seen a lot of white niggers in my time. I’m going to use that word. We just need to work together to make our country a better country, and I’d just as soon quit talking about it so much.”
The ex-Klansman, famed for Beltway blowhardism, should have quit talking a lot sooner. Why any prominent politician in his right mind would publicly and deliberately use the poisonous epithet “nigger” — which most daily newspapers refuse to spell out, no matter the context — is beyond comprehension. It’s an open question as to whether the rant-prone, 83-year-old Byrd is even in his right mind, but senility doesn’t excuse bigotry.
The ex-Klansman’s admirers praise his historical knowledge, mastery of procedural rules, and outspokenness. They refer to the Senate’s senior Democrat as the “conscience of the Senate.” They downplay his white-sheet-wearing days as a “brief mistake” — as if joining the Klan were like knocking over a glass of water. Oopsy.
This ex-Klansman wasn’t just a passive member of the nation’s most notorious hate group. According to news accounts and biographical information, Sen. Byrd was a “Kleagle” — an official recruiter who signed up members for $10 a head. He said he joined because it “offered excitement” and because the Klan was an “effective force” in “promoting traditional American values.” Nothing like the thrill of gathering ’round a midnight bonfire, roasting s’mores, tying nooses, and promoting white supremacy with a bunch of your hooded friends.
The ex-Klansman allegedly ended his ties with the group in 1943. He may have stopped paying dues, but he continued to pay homage to the KKK. Republicans in West Virginia discovered a letter Sen. Byrd had written to the Imperial Wizard of the KKK three years after he says he abandoned the group. He wrote: “The Klan is needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth here in West Virginia” and “in every state in the Union.”
The ex-Klansman later filibustered the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act — supported by a majority of those “mean-spirited” Republicans — for more than 14 hours. He also opposed the nominations of the Supreme Court’s two black justices, liberal Thurgood Marshall and conservative Clarence Thomas. In fact, the ex-Klansman had the gall to accuse Justice Thomas of “injecting racism” into the Senate hearings. Meanwhile, author Graham Smith recently discovered another letter Sen. Byrd wrote after he quit the KKK, this time attacking desegregation of the armed forces.
The ex-Klansman vowed never to fight “with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.”
If this ex-Klansman were a conservative Republican, he would never hear the end of his sordid past. “Ex-Klansman who opposed civil rights and black justices” would appear in every reference to Sen. Byrd. And even the “ex-” would be in doubt. Maxine Waters and Ralph Neas and Julianne Malveaux and Al Sharpton and all the other left-wing bloodhounds who sniff racism in every crevice of American life would be barking up a storm over Sen. Byrd’s latest fulminations. Instead, the attack dogs are busy decrying latent racial bigotry where it doesn’t exist, while the real thing roams wild and free in their own political backyard.

Senator Robert “Ku Klux Klan” Byrd
Free Republic
Senator Robert “Ku Klux Klan” Byrd, a former recruiter for the Bed Sheet Bandits of West Virginia recently made some comments about President Bush’s appearance on the USS Abraham Lincoln. Before we discuss his comments, Lets examine Senator Byrd and his “History.”
Senator Byrd voted against the confirmation of Clarence Thomas (An African American) to the Supreme Court. Now, I can see Yall saying that Clarence Thomas is a Republican and a Conservative and Senator Byrd is neither, so naturally he would vote against him. I would surrender that point except for the fact that Senator Byrd also voted AGAINST the confirmation of Thurgood Marshall, A Very Liberal, Very Democrat African American Judge, when he was nominated to the Supreme Court.
…On March 19th 2003, Senator Byrd said on the Senate Floor “Instead of reasoning with those with whom we disagree, we demand obedience or threaten recrimination. Instead of isolating Saddam Hussein, we seem to have isolated ourselves. We proclaim a new doctrine of preemption which is understood by few and feared by many. We say that the United States has the right to turn its firepower on any corner of the globe which might be suspect in the war on terrorism. We assert that right without the sanction of any international body. As a result, the world has become a much more dangerous place. We flaunt our superpower status with arrogance. We treat UN Security Council members like ingrates who offend our princely dignity by lifting their heads from the carpet. Valuable alliances are split. ”
Are we to assume from these comments, That Senator Byrd feels the United States may only defend itself when the United Nations says we can?

A Senator’s Shame
Byrd, in His New Book, Again Confronts Early Ties to KKK
By Eric Pianin
Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, June 19, 2005; Page A01
In the early 1940s, a politically ambitious butcher from West Virginia named Bob Byrd recruited 150 of his friends and associates to form a chapter of the Ku Klux Klan. After Byrd had collected the $10 joining fee and $3 charge for a robe and hood from every applicant, the “Grand Dragon” for the mid-Atlantic states came down to tiny Crab Orchard, W.Va., to officially organize the chapter.
As Byrd recalls now, the Klan official, Joel L. Baskin of Arlington, Va., was so impressed with the young Byrd’s organizational skills that he urged him to go into politics. “The country needs young men like you in the leadership of the nation,” Baskin said.
The young Klan leader went on to become…
Liberal Democrat Robert Byrd: Recruiter For The KU KLUX KLAN
By Craig Chamberlain
Oct. 19, 2004
Senator Robert Byrd, the very senior senator from West Virginia (my home state) has written a book entitled: Losing America. I’ve not read it, I don’t like garbage, but if the book is anything like his speeches it’s longwinded, boring, pompous, and full of errors. I should know. As a freshmen in college I was forced to listen to this windbag. Some building was being named after him, which isn’t uncommon. I’m sure somewhere in WV there is a rest stop named for him.
For too long this man has been getting …
http://www.useless-knowledge.com/articles/apr/oct329.html
http://www.lycos.com/info/robert-byrd–ku-klux-klan.html
Controversially, Byrd was once a member of the Ku Klux Klan. He filibustered the Civil Rights Act of 1964. He opposed the Voting Rights Act, but eventually voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1968. He voted against Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas (the only African Americans as of yet, to be nominated) to the Supreme Court. Byrd … opposed nomination of Condoleeza Rice as Secretary of State. Many use these instances as evidence of Byrd’s racism and poor race relations.

Tony Perkins and David Barton have their own little connections to the KKK, so watch who you’re supporting Bilbo.
If bil(ge) thinks anyone here is a Robert Byrd: supporter, he needs to think again.
Bil(ge) has no idea what he’s posting- even posting shit in foreign languages.
He copied and pasted all that shit on Byrd without any explanation. No opinion, just random articles.
Absurd bullshit as usual.
bil(ge) continues his RR deceitfulness. He is trying to infer that DefCon is supportive of the KKK when nothing could be further from the truth.
This is typical of the Religious Right.
First of all Byrd was from a different age and many democrats belonged to the KKK back then.
bil(ge) has even quote mined Byrd’s own book. Of course bil(ge) was careful not to post other parts like:
“In his latest autobiography, Byrd explained that he was a member because he “was sorely afflicted with tunnel vision—a jejune and immature outlook—seeing only what I wanted to see because I thought the Klan could provide an outlet for my talents and ambitions.” Byrd also said, in 2005, “I know now I was wrong. Intolerance had no place in America. I apologized a thousand times … and I don’t mind apologizing over and over again. I can’t erase what happened.”
I am not a Byrd supporter or apologizer but he came from a different time. I only comment to show the strategy of bil(ge) to obfuscate and quote mine to make fallacious connections.
Shame on you bil(ge). Shame.
There we go with nine posts in a row by bill, again. And on and on about Byrd and the KKK as if there were some kind of new revelation. Cheese and crackers.
bil(ge) @ 1:50 AM in response to Dorris.
“you whimper, “How are the people that believe this crap any different from the KKK”
Hmm, lets see, Robert ‘KKK’ Byrd from WV is a liberal Dimocrap, your a liberal Dimocrap, aren’t you?
Robert ‘KKK’ Byrd from WV was a big shot in the KKK, You’re Like Byrd.
Dorris states a distaste for the KKK. Then bil(ge) picks Robert Byrd, a democrat and says, “Robert ‘KKK’ Byrd from WV is a liberal Dimocrap, your a liberal Dimocrap, aren’t you?
Robert ‘KKK’ Byrd from WV was a big shot in the KKK, You’re Like Byrd.
Bil(e) does three things in those two sentences. He uses a non-sequitor
He uses circular reasoning
And he sets up a strawman.
bil(e) thinks he’s fooling someone, but he is only fooling himself.
bil(e)- You could not look more ignorant and disengenuous. You are a liar. You ask Doris a question and then you answer it as if you know what her answer will be. You are not a christian in any way. You are a creationist only. You have not a clue as to what a real christian does.
You make unethical statements here every day. You are an uderhanded scum bag. Just like Ham.
If bil(e) is a christian, I am the pope.
Hmmm…Tony Perkins supported David Duke, a KKK member…hmmm. So Tony Perkins must be KKK, and Bill has supported Perkins’ position many times, so Bill must be KKK. Hmmm, when I was a little girl, I had a white poncho that had a white hood. Oh, my.
What a freaking waste of a life.
Alba,
It is easy to see how some of these people can have such irrational beliefs. They actually justify those beliefs to themselves with their own fractured logic. Gah! Then, they expect that type of irrational thought process to work on others. That is delusional thinking.
Yup…Tony Perkins had ties with the KKK. He wanted their mailing list for fundraising. He’s a KKK asshole himself.
And remember bill…Pope Ratzenberg was a Nazi. He only gave up Naziism when Hitler lost the war.
He says he was young at the time.
But, you don’t care for Catholics much either, so I guess this doesn’t surprise you.
Don,
Thanks. Your post goes to show the diversity of all humans. No Humans should be exclused from other humans because we are alll humans evolving and finding our way in life. It is only those with bad attitudes and viral bad thinking that think they are some kind of representative of their god, and want to impose their irrational beliefs on US.
You’re welcome, dale. And thanks back, to you.
Bill, I understand what your saying was in answer to dorris’ remark.
Dorris Says:
Dale, your link at the beginning of this thread was really eye-opening. No one but the RR whackos could get away with putting this kind of hate-filled shit out in public. How are the people that believe this crap any different from the KKK or the NeoNazis?
Al you did was point out that the KLAN was always PRO-Democrat for most of its history.
forexample,’ When Republican Governor of North Carolina William Woods Holden called out the militia against the Klan in 1870, the result was a white backlash. It contributed to the shift which led to a Democratic takeover of the legislature, and to Holden’s impeachment and removal from office.’
- Wade, Wyn Craig. The Fiery Cross: The Ku Klux Klan in America. New York:
Morgan - just for the record - this site is neither pro-Repukelican nor pro-Demoncrat. Both parties are corrupt. However, given that the main thrust of this site is to observe, record and discuss issues that shape American politics, especially as to how they impact the Constttution and specifically, how it impacts the First Amendment - especially the “establishment clause” - you will probably see more references to the Repukelicans since it is no longer a secret that the Repukelicans have relied heavily upon the conservative Evangelical movement for support in recent years. In fact, it is common knowledge that the right-wing, conservative Xtian branch (make that - twig) of the Repukelican party claims to be the catalyst for electing George Bushit. There are, in fact, both Repukelicans and Demoncrats that believe in creationism, and as a result, both sides are open to derision by free thinkers.
p.s. F the Klan and any moron that supports them.
But for the record, I wouldn’t vote Republican, even if a gun was held to my head.
who gives a democrap???
bill - I think you may have accidentally made a joke that was actually funny. Imagine that.
Don’t encourage him.
;-) Alba.
Credit where credit is due. That is the first time in all these months that I actually laughed, humorously and without disdain, at bill.
Maybe he’s on to something. That in itself seems to somewhat of a minor miracle- not!
U 2, Dale. Do nor encourage him, cause he’ll think that will cause a laugh the next 1400 times that he says it. I can assure you it will not…not by me, anyway.
nor = not

James 1
2 Dear brothers and sisters,* whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy.2
3 For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.
5 If you need wisdom–if you want to know what God wants you to do–ask him, and he will gladly tell you. He will not resent your asking.
6 But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
7 People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

We wanted to let you all know that this will be our last blog post(hahaha), at least for now.(meaning forever) Our funding has run out, (because defcom is out of the mainstream so badly that no one will support this foolishness) so we will be taking a break.( because we’re broke)
We want to make it clear that this is in no way an admission of defeat, (Ok, it really is an admission of defeat, but we are trying to save face.) we’ve had some spectacular successes(for example, aahhh, hmm, I’ll get back to you, later) and it is clear that the religious right is on the run!(and soon they’ll be running the country)
Thanks to all of you especially bill from defcon, we’ve been able to fight the teaching of scientific creationism in public schools, fight for (killing the unborn for spare parts), run national ads (Lying about) Jack Abramaoff’s ties to religious right leaders, and in general smear crap and misrepresent the sincerity of the religious right. We’re going to leave the thread open for a few weeks so that you losers can all make connections. Or get a live they normal people. We never really valued this community, and it’s hopeless for us to reconnect with you sometime in the future. Thank you for all you’ve done to help in the fight to attack our Constitution.
The fight goes on….Defcon or no Defcon and the biles of the world will eat the shit they spread.
