Jindal Continued..
Bobby Jindal’s recent victory to become Louiana’s Governor has gained national media attention. As we’ve told you in the past, Jindal has not been shy about his creationist leanings. So it’s not surprising that tucked away in the many articles about Jindal’s success are not insigificant paragraphs about his desire to see creationism taught in schools. Washington PostDavid Broder writes:
Jindal campaigned as a conservative reformer, saying he wanted to pass strict ethics rules for the notoriously out-of-bounds Legislature but vowing also to spur business growth and open classrooms to the teaching of creationism as an alternative to evolution.
And an op-ed in the Los Angeles Times states:
Red-state bloggers love his story and his stock Christian-right positions (no abortions, no exceptions; the Ten Commandments in government buildings; creationism in school curricula).
We’ll be monitoring Jindal as he transitions into his new position..
My concern is that the RRR elected a govenor and there was nothing posted here about it until it was over.
We can’t all sit around and monitor this stuff, and that is why we depend and support this site.
In the last senate and school board elections we were writing letters and emils all over the country in advance and support.
I would like to know why there has been very little blogged about the run up to this guber race.

Reading the National Geographic for kicks and giggles recently, I came across a demographics map that showed literacy rates from about 1900 to the present. The South was, and still is, way behind. A few issues later, there was a map showing rates of obesity and heart disease… and - yep, you guessed it. The south again. Way out there ahead. Ditto with the religiosity. If religion is such a great thing for society, why aren’t these states showing it?

I find it very disturbing tha the mainstream news pundits like Chris (Tweety) Matthews are totally ignorant of Jindal’s goals, as well as who his backers are.
Matthews actually fawned over Jindal during an interview last week.
The Southern Poverty Law Center’s monthly magazine The Intelligence Report, which reports on hate group activity, has an article about a leader of the Louisiana Repuglican party being a follower of David Duke, and connected with the KKK and holocaust deniers.
That explains how Jindal was even nominated in the first place.
Tony Perkins also had some connections to the KKK back a few years.

But ultimately, rational thought will win the day. And IF, when it’s all said and done, science one day proves that there is in fact some kind of spiritual, ethereal entity or power that has some kind of direct impact and/or effect on what we all percieve to be “reality” then at THAT time, the paradigm will change….but not until then. And if such a discover IS made, I am confident that this “power” will not resemble some white haired old white man sitting on a throne up in the clouds floating above the earth - ya know wud I mean?

Here are a few FACTS.
There are 66 books of the Bible.
Counting both Old and New Testament in the KJV the English word Hell only appears a total of 54 times.
Next, of those 54 times the number of different books that speak of Hell is 10 in the OT and 7 in the NT. Only about 26% of all of the books of the Bible speak of Hell.
Paul’s writings are found only in the New Testament. Only 7 books of the New Testament speak of Hell. If only 7 of the NT writers speak of Hell and only 26% of ALL the books of the Bible include the word Hell, why would it be a “serious omission” for Paul not to speak of it?
Paul’s never once mentioning Hell, “is a very serious omission” ONLY in the MIND of someone trying to pick a fight.

Bill is a presumptuous, slanderous and self-destructive clod. There really is no other way to describe him. How dare he accuse dale of hoping to have Christians killed. dale - I see Saul/Paul as an exploiter extraordinaire. He knew full well that Jesus only intended his gospel to be preached to the 12 tribes. He and Peter were at odds over S/P evangelizing the gentiles. I think Peter finally agreed to allow it because it kept S/P out of his hair, and away from Jerusalem on a meaningless mission to wherever. S/P was a guilt-ridden zealot of the worst degree. He did a huge disservice to the message of Jesus and was completely incapable of managing his mess, as shown by all his letters to the different churches begging them to comply with his doctrine. By spreading his cult throughout the gentile world he enabled Rome to eventually hijack the fledgling Christian cult and turn it into a mighty religious empire of greed and excess. I’ll bet every pope from day one has laughed his ass off at the hordes of mindless “sinners” who were willing to give their last coin to try and assuage their fear of the hell the church promised they would be damned to if they didn’t obey every last detail of their morbid dogma.

Nobody here condones singling people out for persecution merely for a religious belief. read again morgan. I don’t “persecute” anyone simply because they claim Christianity as their religion - if I did, I’d be locked in mortal combat with nearly my entire family. However, I do not consider people like that asshole Phelps (the one who pickets military funerals with signs the say “God hated Fags”) to name one, to be Christians anymore that I consider George Bush an honest politician — hence, the ofter used moniker, “Xtian” for hypocrites like that.
My issue continues to be: #1- Xtians who insist that THEIR version of religion is absolute and correct and and anyone who doesn’t agree is going to some eternal hell-fire… #2 - Xtians who insist that the Bible is the literal truth and explanation for the formation of the earth and mankind while totally ignoring established scientific fact, and #3 - Xtians who want to impose their mythology on our school, courts and legislatures.
I wouldn’t care if you believed in Zeus, Athena, Apollo, et al and I wouldn’t perscute you if you did…..but you’d best believe I’d have my foot up your ass if you tried to shove it down my throat.

It caused me to think he wanted me to be afraid that he was tracking down where I live.
